Our Commitment
TrueNorth Strategy & Operations is committed to making our website and services more accessible to people with disabilities. We aim to provide an experience that respects dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity.
Accessibility is an ongoing part of our website’s development. We are actively working to identify and remove barriers and to consider accessibility whenever we add content, update features, or change the design.
Standards That Guide Our Work
Our accessibility efforts are informed by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA), its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation, and the Ontario Human Rights Code, as applicable to our organization.
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Level AA as a technical reference, including the WCAG 2.0 requirements referenced in Ontario’s accessibility standards. We also aim to incorporate improvements from newer WCAG versions as we develop our website.
These standards guide our ongoing work. This statement does not represent certification that every part of our website currently meets every accessibility requirement.
Ongoing Improvements
As we update our website, our priorities include:
-
Providing meaningful text alternatives for informative images.
-
Improving colour contrast and text readability.
-
Supporting keyboard navigation and clearly visible keyboard focus.
-
Using descriptive headings, links, and form labels.
-
Improving compatibility with screen readers and other assistive technologies.
-
Making content usable when text is enlarged or viewed on different screen sizes.
-
Providing captions, transcripts, or other appropriate alternatives for media.
-
Making documents and downloadable information more accessible.
We welcome feedback from people who encounter barriers and use that feedback to help prioritize improvements.
Current Limitations
Some pages, older documents, media, or third-party features may not yet be fully accessible. As our website changes, new barriers may also arise.
If you encounter a problem, please contact us. We will review the issue, work toward an appropriate solution, and discuss another way to provide the information or service you need.
Third-party tools may have accessibility limitations outside our direct control. We will raise reported concerns with the provider where appropriate and work with you to find an accessible alternative.
Accessible Information and Communication
You may request website information in an accessible format or ask for communication support at no additional charge.
We will consult with you about your needs and work to provide a suitable format or support in a timely manner. If the requested format cannot be provided, we will explain the limitation and discuss an appropriate alternative.
